Restaurants in Yokosuka

  • Gorkha Palace

    Indian and Nepali restaurant, named after our founder’s birthplace. Five minutes’ walk from Yokosuka-Chūō Station.

  • Nirvana

    Opened in 2006 as Yokosuka’s first Indian restaurant. In the Mikasa arcade, three minutes’ walk from Yokosuka-Chūō Station.

  • Jungle Spice

    Planned to open in March 2027, in the new building going up beside COASKA Bayside Stores in Honcho. It goes back to the founder’s first job, at Temple Tiger, a jungle resort in Chitwan National Park.

Our story

From Gorkha to Yokosuka

  1. Nepal · hills

    Gorkha

    Our founder was born in Gorkha, the hill district that gave the Gurkhas their name. Gorkha Palace is named after it.

  2. Nepal · lowlands

    Chitwan

    The family moved to Bharatpur, in Chitwan, when he was young. His first job was at Temple Tiger, a jungle resort in Chitwan National Park: he started out buying groceries and supplies for the resort, soon became a nature guide, and rose to general manager before leaving for Japan. The family farm, Mayalu Organic, is here.

  3. Japan · by the sea

    Yokosuka

    In Japan, the family made its home in Yokosuka. In 2006 it opened Nirvana, the city’s first Indian restaurant; today it runs Nirvana and Gorkha Palace here, and four apartment buildings.
